MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov expressed gratitude to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko for the participation of the Belarusian ceremonial regiment of servicemen in the Victory Day parade in Moscow on 9 May, BelTA has learned.
"I want to thank you once again for taking part in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow. Your regiment performed brilliantly, you saw it yourself. You were the first among state leaders to stand and greet your unit as they marched. The servicemen truly did an outstanding job," the minister said.
As it was reported earlier, the Belarusian ceremonial regiment of servicemen of the Special Operations Forces took part in the parade to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow. With the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian military marched through Red Square. A new uniform was specially made for them: a ceremonial tunic, a cap instead of a blue beret, and boots instead of combat boots.
