MINSK, 15 July (BelTA) – Contract students of the Belarusian National Technical University have been made familiar with the operation of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, the press service of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant told BelTA.
The future civil engineering specialists visited the demonstration wing of the education and training center of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The students saw a full-scale simulator of the nuclear power plant control room where engineers practice their reactor and turbine operation skills. Apart from that, the students were informed about peculiarities of operation of the nuclear power plant, about the design of the reactor unit, sources of energy the nuclear power plant uses, and the latest safeguards the Belarusian nuclear power plant incorporates.
The students also took a look at a dummy model of the nuclear power plant's essential equipment. They asked questions about the height and the design of a cooling tower, the material of ceilings of the turbine room and the reactor room. Other highly specialized matters were also raised.
