Belarusian student among prize-winners at Huawei Cup 2020

MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – A student of Belarusian State University (BSU) was one of prize-winners at the Eurasian competitions in the field of ICT Huawei Cup 2020, BelTA learned from the BSU press service.

Daniil Dengalev, a second-year student of the BSU Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, placed third in the Code category of Huawei Cup 2020, the participants of which had three hours to solve four problems.

The competition comprised seven categories: 5G (technologies and standards of the next generation of mobile communications), Cloud (storage and virtualization technologies), APP (mobile application development), IP (technologies and protocols of IP networks), AI (models and methods of artificial intelligence), Code (competitive programming), and ICT Observer.

The final of the competition featured 128 programmers from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The total prize pool for first place winners equaled $60,000. The winner and runners-up in the ICT Observer category also won a trip to China. Runners-up in all other categories were presented with flagship Huawei smartphones.

All in all, more than 20,000 students from 19 Eurasian countries took part in the qualifications. Belarus was represented by 692 people.

The Eurasian competitions in the field of ICT Huawei Cup 2020 have been held annually since 2015 with the aim to develop professional skills of students and young IT specialists. The list of categories changes from year to year to include the most prominent IT areas.
