MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – The school of young sinologists will kick off at Belarusian State University (BSU) on 12 March. It will include both online and offline events. The project is aimed at developing sinology in Belarus and helping young scientists with their research on China, BelTA learned from BSU's press service.
“The school will bring together more than 70 undergraduate and postgraduate students of Belarusian universities and research institutions. A research conference within the framework of the project will feature Chinese scientists from the Institute of Russian, Eastern European & Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Center for Belarusian Studies of East China Normal University, and the Consulate General of Belarus in Shanghai. They will outline priority areas of research on the present-day China and goals for the development of sinology in Belarus,” the press service said.
The school of young sinologists will be divided into five sections. The participants will discuss goals regarding the development of China's economic, scientific, and technological potential in the 21st century as well as priorities for Belarus-China cooperation and intercultural communication. Researchers and experts will also talk about the Belt and Road initiative and the concept of “community with shared future for mankind”.
Plans are in place to publish a collection of research articles after the forum. The organizer is the National Confucius Institute of Sinology at BSU.
