Belarusian State University to host Eurasian student forum on 25 February

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – The 6th Eurasian scientific student forum "Analytical economics and forecasting until 2030" will open in Belarusian State University (BSU) on 25 February. The goal of the event is to improve the financial and economic literacy, and to support the creative abilities of young scientists, students and schoolchildren, the BSU press service told BelTA.

The competition of school graduates "Financial and digital literacy of Generation Z" will open the thematic program. Participating will be ten teams of high school students from Minsk Oblast, Vitebsk Oblast and Gomel Oblast. The children will need to solve a financial and economic crossword puzzle, do a test and to compete in the intellectual biathlon. The winners will receive certificates and prizes.

The Olympiad in analytical economics and forecasting will be held on 28 February. The finals will see 11 teams of the BSU, the Belarusian State Economic University, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, and Russia's Lomonosov Moscow State University, Penza State University, Orenburg State University, Higher School of Economics, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Demidov Yaroslavl State University, and Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Power Engineering. The Economics Department team Random Error will represent the BSU.

Students will need to solve tasks in economics using computer programs, and publicly present the results of the research conducted during the correspondence tour.

The international scientific conference “Economic development tendencies of the 21st century” on the margins of the forum will bring together scientists, doctoral candidates, graduate students, postgraduates, specialists of economic divisions of enterprises, organizations, and public authorities. During the sections and plenary sessions, researchers on economics will present projects and exchange views on problematic issues of the stated topic.

The forum is organized by Belarusian State University.
