MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – At present reporters of state-run mass media represent a united and powerful force. First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov made the relevant statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Pertsov said: “We already have combat bayonets: an entire army of reporters and bloggers, who stand united. By simply telling the truth about our country they can counteract planted fakes. We are no longer as toothless, although it is obvious that we still need to get better. This is why [Belarus’ Mass Media Community] Forum was invented five years ago. From various regions we gathered reporters, many of whom had been bullied and faced aggression on the part of Polish, Lithuanian, and Ukrainian centers of information and psychological warfare.”
The first deputy head of the Belarus President Administration stressed that nowadays reporters of state-run mass media represent a united and powerful force. “And with our reporter work and talent we can counteract this colossal machine,” he said.
“The president’s instruction has been fulfilled in a superb manner. The forum grows larger every year,” Vladimir Pertsov added. “I am sure that yesterday’s panel sessions resulted in the sharing of the best practices not only between republican or invited speakers of large mass media and small ones, including district editorial boards, but also in horizontal communication between each other. After all, everyone has their own approaches, tricks that work. If they are shared, it will facilitate this counterpropaganda work, the work to spread the truth in the best possible manner.”
