MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin honored the Belarusian military personnel that took part in the operational tactical exercise involving live firing in the Russian military training area Ashuluk on 22 August, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry.
"We have a unique opportunity to adopt the combat experience from our Russian colleagues. Our task is to keep skies peaceful in our Motherland, in the Republic of Belarus," Viktor Khrenin told the Belarusian military personnel.
After the official awards ceremony, the commanders of the military units, which performed live missile firing at the Russian Ashuluk training ground, addressed the defense minister with a particular requested. They asked him to sign the lid of the S-300 transport and launch container. The lid breaks when a missile is released during live fire.
“Congratulations on the successful launch,” Viktor Khrenin signed.
