MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – A number of novelties will be created and implemented in the next five years as part of government R&D programs, BelTA learned from First Deputy Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Andrei Kosovsky on 27 January.
According to the source, a number of state R&D programs for the 2021-2025 period are being considered by the government. Plans have been made to create over 2,000 novelties, including an experimental electric truck, an air seeder with the span width of 12 meters, and a national smart utilities platform for the automatic collection and verification of water, gas, and energy resources consumption data.
There are also plans to develop a high-performance image generator using the spatial light modulation technology, develop a technology to make pharmaceutical substances on the basis of cyclopeptides, a ready-made medication for treating lung cancer, a surgical treatment of diseases and injuries of the vertebral column using new polymeric composite implants. Plans have been made to make products worth at least Br3.5 billion thanks to the innovations that will be developed as part of these programs. At least one fifth of the output will be exported.
The official also mentioned products resulting from last year's state R&D programs. Those include a COVID-19 screening kit, a method for the cell therapy of the COVID-19-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome, a new-generation low-floor urban bus, a self-propelled grain harvester with a rotary threshing and separation scheme with the output capacity of 18-20 tonnes per hour.
