The delegation met with Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov. Academician secretaries, heads of organizations of the academy’s Department of Physical and Technical Sciences were present during the meeting. Vladimir Gusakov remarked that interaction with Russian scientists is a priority for the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. “It has always been like that. Not only now. It was like that in the time of the Soviet Union and after its collapse. It is particularly topical now. Russian scientists are our key partners. Although we work with many regions and countries ranging from Japan to the United States of America. We actively cooperate with China, promote cooperation with India, and maintain tight contacts with Vietnam and Cuba. Apart from that, we’ve recently welcomed the president of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. We also work with the European Union,” the official said.

According to the chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Belarusian scientists can take an active part in the Global Energy Prize contest. “I’ve said that we have the relevant R&D products. Our institutes work in that direction. We also have something to show in the field of electric transport, hydrogen energy, and solar energy. We have something to showcase and we will present our R&D products,” Vladimir Gusakov assured.

Sergey Brilev thanked Vladimir Gusakov for the opportunity to see very interesting R&D products of Belarusian scientists, including those in the field of power engineering. “I am very grateful to them for the readiness to cooperate with us. It seems to me that cooperation with the Global Energy Prize may result in Belarusian nominations for the Global Energy research prize in addition to Belarusian reporters, who have won our contest for mass media. Apart from that, together with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus we have held a conference titled as ‘From regional to global’. It was kind of a science and practice conference accompanied by a popular science discussion,” Sergey Brilev noted.
