MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – A battalion-sized tactical exercise will take place in the exercise area Osipovichsky on 14-27 March. The exercise will involve personnel of an independent guards airborne battalion of the 103rd Independent Guards Airborne Brigade of the Belarusian army as well as about 100 personnel of the 234th Air Assault Regiment of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division of the Russian army, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The army units will practice preparing for and carrying out special operations as a reinforced paratrooper battalion. The exercise will involve three stages. The battalion will practice special actions, the crossing of a water obstacle, and live fire shooting in daytime and nighttime.
The exercise is stipulated by this year's plan on cooperation between the Belarusian Defense Ministry and the Russian one.
