MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – A Belarusian-Russian army exercise for engineer units is scheduled to take place in the combined-arms exercise area Obuz-Lesnovsky on 31 August, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The purpose of the exercise is to improve practical skills of commanding officers and executive officers of staffs as they organize the execution of engineering support tasks. The exercise will also improve cohesion of engineer units in the course of carrying out engineering support missions during preparations for combat operations.
Units of the 2nd Engineer Brigade and the 188th Guards Engineer Brigade as well as an engineer battalion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are expected to participate in the exercise.
