MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) –  The authorities and the public of Belarusian regions express condolences for victims of the Moscow concert hall attack, BelTA has learned.

On 25 March Brest Oblast Governor Yuri Shuleiko left an entry in the book of condolences at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Brest. The governor of the southwestern region emphasized that terrorism is the greatest evil.

“On behalf of the residents of Brest Oblast, I express my deep condolences to the residents of Krasnogorsk and all Russian people who are experiencing the consequences of this heinous terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall. We share your pain, mourn the dead and wish a speedy recovery to those injured in this vicious act of terror, which has no justification. In such moments, Russians and Belarusians feel more united than ever, our common desire is to do everything we can to make sure such tragedies do not happen again,” wrote Yuri Shuleiko.

Chairman of the Brest Oblast Council of Deputies Igor Brilevich also wrote words of support. “We all sincerely mourn together with the fraternal Russian people. We express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of all those killed. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured. I am confident that  the organizers and perpetrators of this terrorist act will get the punishment they deserve. Nothing, even the most severe trials, can shake the inviolable union of the peoples Belarus and Russia,” he emphasized.

Russia’s Consul General in Brest Oleg Murashev thanked Brest Oblast residents for their support and solidarity. People flock to the Consulate General, bringing flowers and lamps. Those who wish can leave a message in the book of condolences. “Citizens of Belarus are among the dead. We mourn together. Our country is investigating this horrible terrorist attack. All those responsible will be found and punished. Terrorism is an evil that must be defeated, no matter the cost. Together we will definitely win,” the diplomat said.
