
MOSCOW, 9 May (BelTA) - The Belarusian ceremonial regiment of servicemen of the Special Operations Forces took part in the parade to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow, BelTA learned.
With the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian military marched through Red Square. A new uniform was specially made for them: a ceremonial tunic, a cap instead of a blue beret, and boots instead of combat boots.
The Belarusian regiment was greeted by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the leaders of almost three dozen countries, who arrived in Moscow to celebrate the Victory Day. They include President Xi Jinping of China, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil, President Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel of Cuba, President Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia, Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia, President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt, President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Mongolia President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh and others, leaders of CIS countries, as well as heads of a number of integration associations and international organizations.
In addition to the Belarusian military, the parade features 12 other countries: Azerbaijan, China, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
