MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko presented state awards to people from various professional backgrounds in a ceremony at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk on 19 December, BelTA has learned.
On the instruction of the Belarusian president, well-deserved awards have been conferred on true professionals, whose devotion to their Motherland and desire to make it better have been acknowledged by the state.
The prime minister pointed out that diligence is passed down through generations as a lasting value. "Dedicated work is very much appreciated for ages. It remains the basis of our identity. The Belarusian people have always understood that it is possible to build their own present and future only by their own work and, certainly, have striven to do their utmost," he said.
Roman Golovchenko highlighted the importance of deriving satisfaction from the results of one's labor. He believes that there are many dimensions of this: professional achievements, recognition of colleagues, and recognition by the state. “Each of the awardees is a contributor to our common history. Your work is recognized by a high state award - Medal For Labor Merits,” the prime minister said.
Today the Palace of the Republic hosted a ceremony to honor representatives of various industries: manufacturing sector, agriculture, petrochemical, construction, forestry and others, i.e. the industries that form the basis of economic development.
The prime minister expressed absolute confidence that each of those present in the hall has proved by their achievements that Belarusians are capable of much. Each of them is a clear example of honest, ambitious and persistent people.
“Why are you in this hall? Because your managers, your labor teams nominated you to receive this high award. No doubt, your story is an inspiring story of how you can make the country better, more beautiful and stronger by your work,” Roman Golovchenko emphasized.
Lilia Naronskaya, Head of the Inspectorate of the Taxes and Levies Ministry in Bobruisk, expressed her gratitude to the Belarusian president and the government on behalf of all those who received awards. She thanked for the attention, support, and appreciation of their work. “I am not afraid to say that the dynamic development of our economy, the standards of living, the level of education and security have been achieved thanks to the systemic, professional, principled position of the leadership of our country,” she emphasized.
In continuation of these words Roman Golovchenko noted that calm, confident development, peaceful skies, security, education, medicine, stability of the country are not only the merit of the leadership. It is the merit of everyone. “I am absolutely sure that we can reach many heights. The more we have people like you, the better you prepare and educate the younger generations, the easier and more confident it will be for those who will come after us,” he said.
Forester of Bykhov forestry enterprise Oleg Antonenko was among the awardees. He told the journalists that he had been working in forestry for 13 years. "I love my profession. I was born and grew up in the forest. My grandfather was a forestry worker. In a nutshell, forest has always been in my life," he said.
Head of Belorusneft gas stations of Minsk Oblast Alesya Lisovskaya was also among the awardees. She has been working at the company for 25 years. "Over this time a lot have changed for the better: working conditions, wages. Our company really values and loves people. This thing never changes," she said.

Roman Golovchenko is confident that all these professional achievements are just the beginning of a great journey. "Your knowledge and experience will continue to serve for the benefit of our country. Because you are its pillars and future. I am sure that you will mentor the younger generation and will share with them all your professional expertise and life experience," the prime minister concluded.
