Belarusian People’s Congress delegate calls for creativity to promote tourism in Belarus

BREST, 1 December (BelTA) - Belarus possesses immense tourism potential, and promoting tourist sites requires more creative thinking, Raisa Gorbach, Director of the Ivantsevichi Local History Museum and a delegate of the Belarusian People’s Congress from Brest Oblast told BelTA.

Raisa Gorbach called the Belarusian People’s Congress a very important political and historical event. “We are discussing the program we will work under for the next five years, so everything must be well-considered. I like the saying: ‘If you criticize, propose; if you propose, do; if you do, be accountable!’ Essentially, it could be the epigraph for discussing the social and economic development program for 2026-2030,” the museum director believes. “I work in the cultural sector. The direction I know well is important to me. We need to continue working, but more qualitatively and productively. A lot depends on each of us.”

A key priority for the 2030 program is unlocking the tourism potential. “We have immense potential, many directions and unique places. For example, the Ivantsevichi area prides itself on the Vygonoshchansky Nature Reserve. Khovanoshchina is represented both as a military-historical site and a local nature reserve. If we take just our Ivantsevichi District, there are many such places where we can attract tourists and show Belarus as interesting and diverse,” Raisa Gorbach emphasized.

She is convinced that promoting tourist locations requires more effort and creativity. “It’s important not only to talk about them as much as possible but also to make it ‘tasty’, so that a person tries it and wants to talk about it, to recommend it to family and friends. I am sure we will have even more tourists, but we must strive for it, make sites more attractive. There’s an immense amount of work ahead,” the director of the Ivantsevichi Local History Museum said.
