MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – The Oreshnik missile system is carried by a chassis made by Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT). The chassis was ready even before the missile was accepted for service. The independent military analyst Aleksandr Alesin mentioned it in an episode of BelTA’s YouTube project V Teme [on point].
Aleksandr Alesin said: “The missile system RS-26 [of which Oreshnik can be a modification] practically matches the external dimensions of the Pioneer complex. It has six axles. A 12x12 launch vehicle as motorists say. It is a chassis made by Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. Even the model is known: 79292. This system was demonstrated during a parade in Minsk in 2013. In other words, it was ready even before the missile was accepted for service.”
The military analyst noted that since external dimensions of RS-26 and Pioneer are the same, the remaining shelters can be used to store Oreshnik missile systems.
