Belarusian-Norwegian draft agreement on cooperation in nuclear safety approved

MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – The Council of Ministers has approved a draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and Norway on the prompt notification about nuclear accidents, on sharing information about nuclear installations, and on cooperation in the area of nuclear safety and radiation protection as the basis for conducting negotiations. The Council of Ministers' relevant resolution No.404 of 15 July 2021 was published in the national legal information registry on 19 July, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian Emergencies Ministry has been authorized to conduct negotiations on the draft agreement and introduce minor amendments if necessary. The ministry will sign the agreement if the sides come to terms within limits of the approved draft.

The resolution comes into force as of the day it was passed.
