Belarusian National Tourism Agency attends MITT expo in Moscow

MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) - The National Tourism Agency took part in the 31st International Travel & Hospitality Show MITT in Moscow on 18-20 March, BelTA learned. 

According to the national agency, the exhibition became an important platform for demonstrating Belarus’ tourism potential and strengthening international ties in tourism. During the three-day event the national stand was the center of attraction for tourism industry representatives from all over the world.

In particular, the prospects for resuming air communication between the regions were discussed with the tourism agency of Russia’s Ulyanovsk Oblast. An agreement was also reached on information cooperation between the Tourism Development Fund of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Russia and the Minsk Tourist Information Center. The agreement will make it possible to exchange information on tourism opportunities, implement joint projects and attract tourists. 

Interest in cooperation with Belarus was also expressed by such regions as Sevastopol, Sverdlovsk, Smolensk, and Tula and the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic which will be featured at the Otdykh [Leisure] expo 2025 in Minsk.

On the final day of the exhibition, representatives of the National Tourism Agency held a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism of the Republic of Myanmar to explore new prospects for cooperation in tourism between Belarus and the countries of Southeast Asia. 

In connection with the projected growth of tourist flow from the Russian Federation to Mogilev Oblast, the Mogilevobltourist regional agency is developing a new tourist route Following the Tsar's Ways dedicated to the stay of Russian Emperors Peter I, Catherine II and Nicholas II in the Belarusian lands. The route will allow Russian tourists to learn more about the history of the country by visiting places associated with the life and activities of the Russian monarchs.
