Belarusian MTZ to launch industrial tours

MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) opens its doors for tourists and plans to develop industrial tourism, BelTA learned from MTZ spokesman Pavel Tukhto.

“The enterprise is ready to welcome tourists. At the moment we are processing applications for the future tours. There are plans to make guided exhibition tours for organized groups,” Pavel Tukhto said. A group of 40 guests from Lithuania have already applied for a tour in February. “But we expect we will be able to conduct the first tour even earlier,” the spokesman noted.

During the tour visitors will get an insight into all areas of tractor production from the metal-cutting shop where gears and axles are made to the assembly shop where the main assembly line of the enterprise is located. Tourists will also see an exhibition of the tractors the company makes and get acquainted with the brand new Belarus model range.

Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) was established on 29 May 1946. It is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machines in the CIS states and the world. MTZ offers over 100 tractor models to customers. Over 200 tractor configurations can be assembled to match any climatic and operational conditions. In 2014 the tractor manufacturer was converted into a holding company. Apart from the public joint-stock company (OAO) MTZ the holding company includes eight enterprises. Those are Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units (BZTDiA), Vitebsk Plant of Tractor Spare Parts, Minsk Gear Works, Lepel Electromechanical Plant, Smorgon Assembly Plant, two hydraulics factories in Khoiniki and Narovlya, and Mozyr Machine-Building Plant.
