Belarusian MPs urged to speed up work on bills for spring session

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) - Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko called on MPs to speed up the preparation of bills for the spring session at a meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives in Minsk on 8 February, BelTA has learned.

"Today, the standing commissions are examining 23 bills and 1 decree of the president. Most of these documents have been included in the agenda of the spring session. If the new Constitution is adopted, the next session of the House of Representatives will open in March, and the commissions need to speed up the work on the bills as much as possible. We need to pay special attention to the economic bills. These are bills on licensing, road transport, accounting and reporting, the securities market," said Vladimir Andreichenko.

He also urged to put more effort into the draft Code on Architectural, Urban Planning and Construction Activities. The Commission on Housing Policy and Construction should carefully analyze the document. “It is important to take into account all the provisions of Presidential Directive No. 8 of 4 March2019 ("On priority areas for the development of the construction industry") and also the remarks voiced by the president during the Address to the Belarusian people and parliament," the speaker said.
