Belarusian military to take part in Victory Parade in Moscow

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian military will take part in the Victory Parade in Moscow, the Belarusian Defense Ministry announced during a briefing for the military attaches accredited with the ministry on 20 February, BelTA has learned.

The Defense Ministry offered its views on the issues of international and regional security, international military cooperation and the state, training and capabilities of the Belarusian army. “It was noted that the events honoring the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War are viewed as the most important for Belarus' Armed Forces in 2020. The Belarusian military personnel will participate in the parades both in Minsk and Moscow,” the Defense Ministry said.

It was emphasized that Belarus fully complies with its international obligations and pursues a clear, transparent military policy. “The security in Belarus relies on the combat-ready and well-equipped Armed Forces, which can be used only to ensure independence and territorial integrity of the country only as a last resort,” the Defense Ministry noted.
