MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) - This year, citizens of Equatorial Guinea will study in Belarusian medical universities for the first time, Head of the Department for Personnel Management and Professional Education of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry Olga Kolyupanova told BelTA.
"This year, we will welcome the first group of students from Equatorial Guinea. This agreement was reached through the efforts of our head of state," Olga Kolyupanova stated. She noted that 20 students will receive grants to study in Belarus.
As a follow up to the agreements between the presidents of Belarus and Zimbabwe, Zimbabwean students are already studying in Belarusian medical colleges, showing strong interest in Belarusian medical education. This is the first experience for Belarus, Olga Kolyupanova stressed.
Currently, around 12,000 students are enrolled in Belarusian medical colleges, preparing for careers as nurses and medical assistants.
