Belarusian health resorts host 217,500 foreign guests in 2023

MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – Belarusian medical-focused health resorts hosted over 217,000 foreign guests in 2023, Director of the Belarusian national center of health resort treatment and recuperation Gennady Bolbatovsky told the media, BelTA has learned.

"The number of foreign guests increased by 15.5% over 2022 to 217,500. Revenue rose by 26% to Br311 million," the director of the center said.

Russians accounted for the lion's share (about 95%) of foreign guests in 2023. In general, despite various restrictions, citizens of more than 70 countries came to Belarus for health improvement. Domestic health resorts are in demand among residents of the Baltic countries and Poland.

"According to the operational data, about 100 citizens of these states are currently staying in our medical-focused health resorts," Gennady Bolbatovsky noted.
