MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) — The West is fencing itself off from Belarus and Russia, and its approach towards Russian and Belarusian citizens is teetering on genocide, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov told the media on the margins of the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security on 31 October, BelTA has learned.
"In these difficult times, Belarus has managed to avoid active involvement in the conflict and continues to seek a common peace configuration in the region. No matter what anyone says, this is a respected position, and the attitude towards our president is appropriate. He is seen as a very wise and forward-thinking politician," Maksim Ryzhenkov said.

According to him, the world needs such platforms as the Minsk conference on Eurasian security. "Nowadays, the West is fencing itself off. Look at what is happening at the border checkpoints on the Polish and Lithuanian sides. In fact, this approach towards Russian and Belarusian citizens is verging on genocide. This is wrong. They see us as second-class people. This is what happens," he emphasized.
The minister added that despite this policy, citizens of other countries continue to travel to Belarus: "All invited guests have reached us, through Baku, Istanbul or Dubai."
