MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – Energy enterprises closely watch their equipment in anticipation of possible breakdowns due to frosty weather, BelTA learned from the Telegram channel of the Belarusian energy company Belenergo.
The national energy system has undergone repairs of electric and thermal equipment, power grids, and heating pipelines in order to ensure reliable operation during winter. Control has been stepped up over the state of equipment, which operation may be hindered by low air temperatures. Repair crews are fully stocked on protective gear and the necessary materials and tools. Emergency response exercises have been held. The personnel have been properly trained.
Belenergo employs a total of over 8,800 people in over 1,250 repair and emergency response crews. They have over 3,280 automobiles and special vehicles at their disposal. Regional branches of Belenergo have a total of 184 movable diesel power plants.
