Belarusian diplomats lay flowers at WW2 memorial in Belgrade

MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Personnel of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Serbia took part in a ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial complex Liberators of Belgrade, BelTA has learned.

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary since the German invaders attacked Yugoslavia during World War Two the Belarusian embassy took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the memorial complex Liberators of Belgrade. The minister of labor, employment, veteran affairs, and social affairs of Serbia, representatives of the Serbian Defense Ministry, Belgrade City Hall, heads of foreign embassies, veteran organizations and youth organizations of Serbia took part in the commemorative event.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which was legally succeeded by the Republic of Serbia, were established in November 1994. Embassies of the two countries have been operating in Minsk and Belgrade since 1996.
