MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) - China's Changzhou is hosting the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum. A delegation of the Belarus’ Ministry of Internal Affairs headed by First Deputy Minister - Head of the Public Security Police Yuri Nazarenko is taking part in the event, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“In 2015, China's Ministry of Public Security initiated the event as a platform for dialogue and cooperation. Today, 10 years later, the idea of 'Joint Security for Shared Prosperity' is still relevant,” Yuri Nazarenko emphasized.
“Amid the current international situation that remains unprecedentedly tense, virtually all known challenges and threats have escalated. Extremism, terrorism, cybercrime, drug trafficking and other types of transnational crime know no borders and manifest themselves in the most radical forms. This forum is a good opportunity to collectively work out ways to solve these problems,” Yuri Nazarenko said.
Yuri Nazarenko noted that Belarus’ Ministry of Internal Affairs has extensive experience in countering all types of illegal activities and is ready to share its experience with foreign colleagues. In addition to the constructive exchange of views, the participants of the event reviewed the draft annual report of the Forum and heard a report on the plan to research the Global Public Safety Index.
As part of the visit to China, the Belarusian delegation also visited the special police unit of Changzhou.
