MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – The intensity of acts of provocation on the part of Ukrainian units has not been reduced, BelTA learned from Chief of the Central Office, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus Vladimir Kupriyanyuk.
Vladimir Kupriyanyuk said: “The Ukrainian side is working fast to set up terrain defenses in border areas of Rovno Oblast, Volyn Oblast, Zhitomir Oblast, and Chernigov Oblast, including mine emplacement, destruction of bridges, ferries, and road sections. According to our estimates, at present the army group North, which is responsible for the Belarusian-Ukrainian border section, includes over 115,000 military personnel, including up to 15,000 personnel deployed specifically to reinforce the border.”
According to the source, Ukrainian mechanized units, territorial defense brigades, and the National Police of Ukraine are deployed to defend the border. The movement of heavy vehicles has been registered in areas near the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, including tanks, artillery systems, and air defense systems. At the same time the intensity of acts of provocation and demonstration on the part of Ukrainian military units has not been reduced. They use unmanned aerial vehicles, which have repeatedly violated the Belarusian border.
“We understand perfectly well that these actions are staged not only for the sake of reconnaissance but also as attempts to deliver explosives and other kinds of materiel into our territory for the sake of enabling possible actions of diversionary nature,” Vladimir Kupriyanyuk summarized.
