MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) - The CEC registered the elected members of the
Council of the Republic of the eighth convocation on 9 April, BelTA has
learned.
“Based on the information of the members of the Central
Election Commission and the documents on the election of members of the
Council of the Republic received by the CEC, it can be stated that the
meetings of the councils of deputies were held according to the law.
There are no different opinions of the members of ballot commissions,
statements of other persons about violations of the Electoral Code
requirements during the voting or counting of votes. 56 members were
elected to the Council of the Republic. Continuity was ensured as 15
members of the new Council of the Republic worked in previous
convocations,” Chairman of the Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko
said.
“On the basis of Article 107 of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Central Election Commission establishes the election results and registers the elected members of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus,” Igor Karpenko said.
