MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) - The election campaign was quite vibrant, Chairman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko told reporters in Minsk on 9 April, BelTA has learned.
"Indeed, such a form at[single voting day] has proved its worth. There are probably some nuances, as in any large campaign that involves many different people. Sometimes the human factor comes into play. Yet, it must be said that these elections were quite dynamic. We still have to work on mistakes, as the president says: to see what we have done well and where we underperformed," Igor Karpenko said.
According to him, plans are in place to hold a large national seminar with election organizers. "We plan to invite people from the field, who organized the work of the commissions and ensured their operation on the ground, and discuss all issues," the head of the CEC said. “Having held the single voting day on 25 February 2024, we are actually launching another single voting day, which will be held in 2029. This is a global practice. All the central electoral bodies of the world work according to it: after completing the elections, analyzing the work done, they start preparing for the next cycle."
Igor Karpenko said that the national seminar with election organizers is scheduled for June.
