MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – The situation at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is fully under control, BelTA learned from the spokesman of the State Border Committee of Belarus Anton Bychkovsky.
Anton Bychkovsky said: “The situation in the direction of Ukraine is fully under control. Border service personnel remain on duty in enhanced mode at the southern border.”
“We registered growing risks of the overflow of diversionary and terrorist actions into our country’s territory. We registered active reconnaissance of our territory, infiltration attempts for the sake of setting up caches with means of destruction near the border in Belarus. Belarus has to respond to it by beefing up border security, including by deploying not only border service personnel but regular army units,” the officer noted.
In his words, the number of provocations staged by military personnel of the neighboring country of Ukraine has decreased considerably. “We don’t see new provocations near the state border or prerequisites for them,” Anton Bychkovsky stated.
