MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – None of the Lithuanian border crossings has processed the agreed number of trucks coming from Belarus in the last 24 hours, the State Border Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
The Belarusian border service attributed the congestion of outgoing trucks on the Belarusian side to Lithuania's and Latvia's failure to process the agreed number of trucks. “None of the Lithuanian border crossings has fulfilled the arrangements concerning the processing of trucks from Belarus in the last 24 hours,” the source said.
The Lithuanian border checkpoint Medininkai (the Kamenny Log checkpoint on the Belarusian side) processed only 56% of the number of trucks specified by the arrangement. The situation was better at the Belarusian-Latvian border, however, the border checkpoint Silene (the Urbany checkpoint on the Belarusian side) welcomed 75% of the agreed number of trucks.
Trucks could enter Ukraine and Poland without delays.
