The First News Channel has found out when Belarusian bison appeared in Russia's Bashkortostan and how they feel there.
Booklets titled “The History of the Bashkir Bison” could be spotted on the table during the negotiations between Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Head of Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.

Bison went extinct on the territory of the South Ural region from 16,000 to 100,000 years ago. Now Bashkortostan wants to restore their population.

According to Radiy Khabirov, 18 Belarusian bison were brought to Bashkortostan two years ago. “These 18 bison have already given birth to five calves. This suggests that everything is going well for them: they are breeding, multiplying. Every person should do something of significance in their life, like building factories, facilities... It's great to have these beautiful, proud, eye-catching animals roaming our forests,” the head of Bashkortostan believes.
