MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) - The travel industry reports a high demand for Minsk-Hainan tours. The Belarusian air carrier Belavia will operate twice-weekly flights to Hainan as from 1 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Union of Tourism Organizations.
Initially, only one weekly flight (on Wednesdays) was planned. Belavia will launch regular Minsk-Sanya route on 8 October.
"Travel operators report that the flight frequency will double starting 1 November, with departures operating twice weekly – on Wednesdays and Saturdays,” the Belarusian Union of Tourism Organizations said.
Travel industry representatives have recently gone on a familiarization tour to Sanya. The direct flight from Minsk will take approximately 10 hours and will operate in both economy and business class configurations. While this destination is not new to the Belarusian market, tourists have been actively traveling to Hainan using connecting flights in recent years.
Belarusian citizens do not require a visa for China when staying on Hainan Island for up to 30 days (with a maximum of 90 days per calendar year).
The best time for visiting is from October to March, when the island enjoys dry, warm weather and is blanketed in lush greenery. Hainan boasts numerous ancient historical sites, along with modern recreational parks.
