MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – A training camp for artillery and missile units of the Northwestern Operational Command is taking place in the military training area Osipovichsky, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

During the training camp artillery and missile specialists will improve their combat skills and cohesion. They will also learn the professional skills they may need in a combat situation.

Colonel Ruslan Chekhov, Chief of the Missile Forces and Artillery Command of the Armed Forces, Chief of the Missile Forces and Artillery Office of the General Staff of the Armed Force, said: “In the course of combat training we definitely take into account the experience of [Russia’s] special military operation in Ukraine and of other modern armed conflicts. It enables new capabilities for managing army units. Cutting-edge communications solutions and modern gadgets are widely used in the process. The use of reconnaissance solutions has advanced to new heights. Those are primarily aircraft-type drones and quadcopters. Literally yesterday at premises of the 51st Artillery Brigade it was the first time we had practiced hitting targets with high-precision guided shells Krasnopol while getting targeting data from an Orlan-30 drone. It was the first experience of this kind for our Armed Forces and it was quite a success.”
