
MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) - Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets met with the heads of delegations ahead of the ninth Meeting of the Education Ministers of the SCO member states in China, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian ministry.
Talks were held with Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov. They concerned participation in the forum of higher engineering universities in Belarus and the ProfSkills Belarus 2025 competition. The parties also discussed the development of resource centers for vocational education in Uzbekistan, interuniversity interaction in submitting applications for joint competitions of scientific projects. The colleagues from Uzbekistan thanked for the training of their teachers at the National Institute of Vocational Education. The parties emphasized the importance of these areas in the implementation of the agreements between the presidents of the two countries.
The meeting also reviewed the activities of the Belarus-Uzbekistan Interindustry Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications in Tashkent, established through the joint work of Belarusian National Technical University and Tashkent State Technical University.
“The institute is an example of friendly cooperation in training highly qualified engineering and technical personnel who are able to solve issues related to the scientific and production sector. The establishment of the competence center in the institute can strengthen cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan in vocational education by improving the qualifications of employees and implementing educational programs,” the press service of the Education Ministry cited Andrei Ivanets as saying.
The Belarusian education minister also met with Deputy Minister of Education of Russia Andrey Korneev. The parties talked about preparations for the joint board meeting in Sochi in the autumn, cooperation in special education and youth policy, development of content and educational publications, and participation in the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Nizhny Novgorod.
