Belarus, UAE look to deepen law enforcement cooperation

MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov met with Chief of Dubai Police Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Belarus’ Ministry of Internal Affairs told BelTA.

Ivan Kubrakov expressed gratitude for the organization of the UAE SWAT Challenge 2025, a world championship for police special units, in which three teams from the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs participated in February. He also confirmed the intention to compete in similar events in 2026.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation between the two countries in law enforcement. "One of the main areas of cooperation is the training of UAE police officers in Belarus. We are ready to expand this cooperation, including in areas such as security for top officials and key witnesses, public order protection during mass events, and security in large shopping centers," Ivan Kubrakov noted.

The ministry emphasized that an agreement was reached to exchange delegations for practical cooperation soon.

"I am grateful for the warm welcome in Dubai. I am convinced that our agreements will be successfully implemented," the minister concluded.
