MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – During a meeting between Belarusian Minister of Communications and Informatization Kirill Zalesky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Belarus Ibrahim Salim Al-Musharrakh, the parties expressed interest in exchanging experience in digitalization, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Communications and Informatization.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in digitalization, including the development of artificial intelligence technologies, digital healthcare, cybersecurity, investment activity, and cooperation in international organizations. They agreed to intensify negotiations to prepare for the signing of an interagency agreement on strategic cooperation in digital development. The parties also reviewed practical mechanisms for implementing previously signed agreements between the two states: on free trade in services and investment and the economic partnership agreement between the EAEU and the UAE.

Kirill Zalesky highlighted the high level of digital solutions implemented in the UAE and expressed interest in expanding bilateral contacts and exchanging best practices in this area.

The talks also addressed the implementation of agreements reached during the Belarusian delegation’s visit to Dubai in October 2025. In addition, the sides agreed to intensify bilateral dialogue on current areas of cooperation with the support of the UAE diplomatic mission in Minsk.

The Belarusian side also confirmed its readiness to support the UAE’s candidacy for membership in the EMS Cooperative Board for 2026-2028, which operates under the framework of the Universal Postal Union.
