
MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Turkmenistan Stanislav Chepurnoi met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myakhri Byashimova on 11 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of the Belarusian-Turkmen relations in the cultural and humanitarian dimensions and the preparations for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation in Science and Technology.
The parties also discussed the interaction in international organizations.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Turkmenistan were established in 1993. The Embassy of Turkmenistan opened n Minsk in October 1995; the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus oepned in Ashgabat in July 2002.
