Belarus, Türkiye discuss cooperation in ICT

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) - Belarus and Türkiye discussed the prospects for cooperation in communications and information and communication technologies, BelTA learned from the press service of the Communications and Informatization Ministry.

Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan held talks with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Belarus Cem İsık. During the meeting, the parties discussed the positive results already achieved and the prospects for further development of Belarusian-Turkish cooperation in the field of communications and information and communication technologies.

The parties are confident that the development of cooperation in this area will serve as an additional impetus for trade and economic relations between Belarus and Türkiye.

An agreement was reached to study the possibility of signing a bilateral document on cooperation in communications and informatization. 

Konstantin Shulgan invited the head of the Turkish diplomatic mission in Belarus and Turkish companies to visit the 30th International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies TIBO 2024, which will be held in Minsk from 5 to 8 June.

Following the talks, the parties outlined steps to bolster interdepartmental cooperation in communications and informatization.
