Belarus to increase supplies of veterinary drugs to Uzbekistan

MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) - Belarus will increase supplies of veterinary drugs to Uzbekistan by 2.5 times, head of the main department of foreign economic activity of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry Ksenia Meleshko said during a roundtable “Uzbekistan and Belarus, a time-tested partnership” in BelTA’s press center on 19 February.

Cooperation in agriculture between Belarus and Uzbekistan has been rapidly developing. According to Ksenia Meleshko, Belarusian products are in demand in Uzbekistan, as well as Uzbek products are popular in Belarus.

The parties are determined to deepen interaction not only in food supplies, but also in industrial cooperation. Belarus together with its partners plans to build a poultry farm and a milk processing plant in Uzbekistan.

“Another area is the supply of veterinary drugs. We have signed a contract [as part of the recent visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Uzbekistan] and the supplies will grow almost 2.5 times. This shows that our veterinary drugs are in demand in the Uzbek market,” Ksenia Meleshko said.
