BREST, 3 December (BelTA) - Brest played host to the third meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Penza Oblast of Russia, BelTA learned.
“In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War we suggest organizing the Days of Russia’s Penza Oblast in the Republic of Belarus. We propose April 2025 and Brest, Mogilev and Minsk as the venues. We are planning to show our best artists and teams, showcase arts and crafts and present products made by Penza enterprises,” Vice Governor of Penza Oblast Sergei Fedotov said.
The Belarusian side supported the proposal. “Let's do it. Let’s set up a group or a committee that will handle all these issues. We will do our best and be a good host,” said Governor of Belarus’ Brest Oblast Piotr Parkhomchik, who heads the working group from the Belarusian side.
During the meeting in Brest, the parties went through a wide range of issues related to cooperation in economic and social matters. A number of cooperation agreements were also signed.
In addition to the working group meeting, the Russian delegation is set to visit the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial, a number of enterprises and sports facilities. The Brest Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold a business matchmaking event for the business communities of the two countries. On 4 December, the delegation of Penza Oblast will take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of Brest Oblast.
