MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – The Healthcare Ministry is going to expand the scope of routine medical services in outpatient clinics and to intensify vaccination against COVID-19, Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich said at a working meeting to discuss COVID-19 containment measures, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.
A decision was made to keep re-purpusing hospitals, as well as expanding routine medical care, including in polyclinics. The sanitary service was instructed to strengthen control over the observance of the red zone rules.
There are also plans to toughen up control over the observance of social distancing rules, including in crowded places, at work, retail outlets, cafes and restaurants. “A large-scale COVID-19 sentinel surveillance will continue to track the virus strains,” the press service said.
Dmitry Pinevich also set a task to step up the vaccination process and update the schedules for supply of medicines.
Citing the results of the COVID-19 sentinel surveillance, the Healthcare Ministry added that the healthcare facilities are provided with medicines and personal protective equipment. The reserve of PPE is big enough to last for more than two months. Work is underway on the further acquisition of the necessary high-tech medical equipment, medicines, etc.
