VORONEZH, 11 July (BelTA) – Belarus will construct another general education school in Voronezh Oblast of Russia. A ceremony to mark the start of construction took place in the village of Alexandrovka, Novaya Usman District on 10 July. Attending the event were Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik and Voronezh Oblast Governor Aleksandr Gusev, BelTA has learned.
The school in Alexandrovka will be built under an agreement signed at the 12th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in June 2025. Designed to accommodate 1,101 students, the school will offer facilities for extracurricular activities and additional education across various areas: physical education and sports, arts, project-based learning, technical disciplines, and more. The project also includes the creation of an accessible environment for children with disabilities. Belarusian construction materials and equipment will be used for the project, which is scheduled for completion in August 2027.

This will be the third general education institution in Voronezh Oblast built by Belarusian specialists. In 2021, they completed a 520-seat school in the village of Strelitsa, Semiluki District. On 1 September 2023, the largest school in Russia with a capacity of 2,860 students opened its doors in Voronezh, also built by Belarusians.
Belarusian builders have also constructed a mega-kindergarten for 600 children in Voronezh. Its grand opening is scheduled for 11 July. In addition, they have carried out a major renovation of the city’s main stadium Fakel.

According to Vladimir Lenchikov, Deputy Director for Construction at the Belarusian company Stroyengineering, the facilities are being built on Russian territory in accordance with decree of the Belarusian president No. 534. “This decree allows Belarusian funds to be invested in the construction of social infrastructure in the Russian Federation, which can then be purchased by municipal or federal authorities. It enables us to complete projects on time and to a high standard, provided we have access to the necessary financial resources,” he explained.

Vladimir Lenchikov also noted that negotiations are currently underway for Belarus to build another school, a kindergarten, and a stadium in Voronezh Oblast.
