Belarus to attend CSTO PA Council meeting in Almaty

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) - A delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus led by Speaker of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko is set to visit Kazakhstan on 2-3 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The Belarusian parliamentary delegation will take part in the meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Almaty.

The Council will consider the implementation of the decisions of the November (2023) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and measures taken to counteract challenges and threats to collective security. Plans are also in place to adopt the Statement of the CSTO PA Council in connection with the development of artificial intelligence technologies and exchange of experience in countering foreign interference in the internal affairs of states.

In addition, reports will be heard on the results of participation of the CSTO PA representatives in the international observation of elections and referendums in Belarus, Russia and Serbia, as well as in the 148th IPU Assembly and the regular 23rd winter meeting of the OSCE PA.
