Belarus thanked for letting Latvian citizens transit via Minsk airport amid coronavirus outbreak

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkevics thanked Belarus for letting Latvian citizens transit through Minsk National Airport in a phone conversation with Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Edgars Rinkevics thanked Belarus for letting Latvian citizens from third countries transit through Minsk National Airport," the ministry informed.

The ministers reviewed the cooperation between all government agencies involved in the movement of citizens across the shared border. "The parties welcomed effective and constructive interaction between the two countries and noted the lack of serious systemic problems on this matter," the press service stressed.

The foreign ministers also discussed the schedule of political contacts in the near future.
