MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – The conflict in Ukraine may sweep through the entire Europe, this is why everyone in Belarus hopes for peace. State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich made the statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One as he commented on Russia-Ukraine peace talks, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Volfovich said: “Europe should appreciate the situation and the scale. The conflict in Ukraine is the flame that can sweep through the entire Europe. All of us hope for peace. It is the most precious and most important thing that worries people today.”
He stated that regretfully a number of European leaders think with slightly different criteria and parameters: “Today people with a different order of thoughts in their heads have risen to power, regretfully. They don’t totally comprehend what may happen in the end. I think that pragmatism and some common sense should prevail and should facilitate the achievement of peace talks.”
