DOKSHITSY, 12 March (BelTA) – Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko presented passports to school students from Dokshitsy District on 12 March, BelTA has learned.

“Today is a very important and memorable occasion – you are going to get a passport of the citizen of the Republic of Belarus. It is symbolic that the ceremony is held ahead of Constitution Day that is marked on 15 March,” Vladimir Andreichenko stressed. “It is one's main document. For you it is a pass to adulthood and independent life,” he told the students.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, despite their young age, the teenagers have already proven that Dokshitsy District can be proud of them and their academic and sport achievements. However, the most important period and the greatest victories still lie ahead of them. It is university studies, new achievements in sport and business. “Some of you will choose to work in agriculture or at a plant, some will advance science, become diplomats, or guard Belarusian borders. The most important is that you understand that only you are responsible for your future. Everyone has equal opportunities at the start. But after that everything depends on your persistence, diligence, aspiration, and hard work. If you put effort into it and are responsible, you will be able to build a career and achieve a lot in your life,” he said.

The students did not hide their emotions. Ulyana Oganesyan is an active participant of various school events, art and music contests, some of which are held within the framework of the Year of Native Land. “I am happy that this year we have assumed a bit of responsibility for our country,” she noted. Ulyana Oganesyan is sure that she will never forget this day.

Pasha Kuchits associates this day with a new stage in life. Receiving a passport has prompted him to start thinking about his future. “I have not chosen my future profession yet, there is still time to make the decision. However, when I took the passport in the hands, I felt like an adult, a true citizen of the country. It is great and responsible,” he noted.
