Belarus showcases tourism potential at China-Eurasia Expo in Ürümqi

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) - Belarus presented its tourism potential at the large-scale international exhibition China-Eurasia 2025 held in Ürümqi, China, the National Tourism Agency of Belarus told BelTA.

Visitors to the Belarusian stand can explore a wide range of tourism offerings, discover the country’s cultural and historical treasures, and learn about opportunities for active recreation and wellness travel.

During the exhibition, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Aleksandr Chervyakov held a meeting with Chinese partners. The ambassador emphasized the importance of developing Belarus-China cooperation, including in the tourism sector, and highlighted the need for informational tour exchanges between tourism professionals from both countries. The parties discussed prospects for organizing a bilateral info tour between Ürümqi and Belarus, which would allow Chinese partners to assess the country’s tourism potential.

The meeting’s participants also discussed the familiarization tour for a Chinese delegation organized by the National Tourism Agency on 18-24 February 2025, a key event of which was Workshop 2025, held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Minsk. The event featured a conference and bilateral business meetings, bringing together around 70 representatives of tourism companies from Belarus and China, staff of the center, and specialists from the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry and and the Department of Tourism.

The China-Eurasia Expo 2025 will run until 30 June. The Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center has brought together representatives from various industries to showcase their achievements and establish new business contacts. The range of thematic sections presented is remarkably broad: from the energy sector and mechanical engineering to the textile industry and digital technologies.
