Belarus ships humanitarian aid to Kenya in wake of floods

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – Belarus has sent humanitarian aid to Kenya to help deal with the aftermath of flooding, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Humanitarian cargo weighing a total of 7.5 tonnes and worth more than Br500,000 was sent to Kenya on behalf of Belarus’ leadership to deal with severe consequences of flooding in the country.

The Belarusian side delivered clothing and footwear for children and adults as well as frame tents.
The ceremony to hand over the Belarusian humanitarian aid was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kenya Dmitry Krasovsky and Deputy Minister of Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programs of Kenya Ismail Maalim Madey.

On the same day Dmitry Krasovsky met with Abraham Korir Sing’Oei, Kenya’s Deputy Minister of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

“The parties discussed the state and prospects of Belarusian-Kenyan relations, including preparations for bilateral visits at the top and high levels, as well as matters of cooperation within the framework of international organizations,” the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
